Blockbuster Movies

Movies are suppose to be entertaining, educational and fun. The three movies I have chosen to talk about are Jaws, Star wars and Back to the Future. I have watched these movies enough to say that they are some of my favorite movies, and they are considered blockbuster movies. I know that some people say that blockbuster movies are only good for merchandising opportunities but i think that blockbuster movies have a good reputation of releasing a lot of fantastic movies. There are many artistic merits in these movies. The special effects, art, and creative processing of these movies were not just made for selling toothbrushes and pajamas. Even though these movies were made a while ago, they are still recognized for being ahead in their time in technical capabilities.

Movies like this make you think and imagine and i think that is what makes a good movie. Jaws was voted number five on Empire's 500 Greatest Movies Of All Time (September 2008). As of 2008, the overall box office revenue generated by the six Star Wars films totalled approximately $4.3 billion. That made it the third-highest-grossing film series, behind only the James Bond and Harry Potter films. It also became huge in pop culture. When the first Back To The Future was released, it became the most successful movie of the year, it made more than $380 million worldwide and received critical acclaim.

When you actually look at these three movies you can see that they have been with us for a very long time and they are not going anywere. They are classics, as are most blockbuster movies.
